where have you been hiding so long
that you haven’t come out here & screamed
& haven’t really been testifying at all
any shock & anger over the universal human pain
why haven’t I heard your voice yet – say
or has there none been given to you
or haven’t you been touched by that pain
to at last wake up – to come out here & scream
any kind of comitted action would do
short of violence of course – that always hurts a good cause
we’ve all been waiting so direly for you
to wake up – come out – & raise a strong voice
or hasn’t there any been given to you?
we’re tired of all your excuses – arguments sounding so smart
they’re in fact just blasphemies – in the face
of politics smoking & reeking really bad
of carnage & so much human flesh burning too
we keep hearing that cynical hellish laughter from all
those utterly vile gangsters in office – in power everywhere
it’s been us though – plain brainwashed – screwed up beyond repair
who’d voted for them all – & gotten them up there
we’re tired of all these pathetic excuses – you
keep putting our whole planet to these outrageous abuses
you haven’t been anywhere near that despair that
you’ve created by sending young soldiers out there
by bombing whole nations back to stone age – who cares
by waging your high-tech vile drone warfare
killing ‘terrorists’ by the scores – thousands of innocent too
by installing rogue regimes to suck their peoples dry
while you call them ‘our friends, the allies on our side’
so long’s they let our corporations go in there & loot
you pay off local warlords – so these bastards may revel
so long’s they toe the line – play our game real fine &
deliver the stuff that fuels so well – our extravagant
kinda ‘lifestyle’ – of waste – of destruction – of crimes
& you can see no wrong with such heinous practice
since this serves our grand ‘western values’ after all
democracy – freedom & capitalism too
they’re the ultimate global solution we’re told
so let our feast just go on & go on
say have you at all taken notice of this
& mustered up your morals to fully comprehend
to see the true nature of this game so revolting
& have you ever opened your eyes to that mess
which we keep making possible by complicity I confess
by our negligence – our greed – & moral indifference
we don’t wish to be touched – by that misery I guess
of the starving – the wounded – the suffering – the dying
that sheer hell on earth for millions out there
oh no – we’ve never – really cared much at all
never been facing that universal human pain
never been anywhere near there – or have we
but changes are up – this I’ve just got to tell you
even you – & I mean YOU – will have to give up
& break out in tears – give in to those facts &
that dreadful human pain everywhere – & yes
these changes they’re up very soon now for sure
