For a long time my only regular writings were song lyrics in English – and very sporadically in
German – with one or the other poem or little essay every once in a while

As I'm not a native speaker of English and have had about three years only of live practice in Canada and in the States there are limitations imposed on the range and quality of my poetic expression. However, writing in English became so important to me around the year 2000 - when I felt compelled to speak out on the new developments in the USA - that my limited abilities could not keep me from talking politics. But soon more personal pieces would then also emerge.
Spoken Word is the key idea, my writing should be read loudly, sound and rhythm and rhyme should drive the text.

In the last couple of years I have also performed in German at readings and even at Poetry Slams, and I've started writing specifically in that genre.
